Hi, I’m Gaurav Khajuria, your friendly neighbourhood handyman with Hire a Handyman, helping people across South Auckland, Onehunga, Remuera, and the Auckland CBD. I’ve been in the trade world for over 10 years, but my journey started long before I ever picked up a drill professionally, I’ve always been the person who can’t walk past something crooked without fixing it.
I began my career in aluminium joinery and glazing, learning the kind of precision that doesn’t let you get away with “near enough.” From there, I moved into general maintenance and home improvement, working on everything from busy commercial sites to family homes that just needed a bit of love. Somewhere along the way, I realised how much I enjoy helping people turn their ideas into real, practical changes.
These days, you’ll usually find me building decks, putting up fences, refreshing kitchens, or tackling the long list of jobs that every home seems to collect. I like making things look good, work properly, and last and I enjoy the process just as much as the finished result.
I’m a big believer that home improvement shouldn’t be stressful. I’m here to make things easier, keep the communication clear, and bring a bit of good energy to the job. If you’ve got a project you’ve been thinking about (or a few things you’ve been avoiding), I’m always happy to help get them sorted.
When I’m not on the tools, you’ll probably find me out and about enjoying Auckland life, spending time with family, or tinkering with something because let’s be honest, I can’t sit still for long.
